Organizing a Support Group Go Back

HOW TO HANDLE COSTS | HOW TO START | PIT'S MANUAL

PIT has developed a manual on how to set up a PIT-like group and how to run meetings. This manual is proprietary but if you are interested in obtaining a copy, please contact the PIT office.

PIT has been providing a successful peer support to parents in the Toronto area for more than 20 years. Beleaguered parents struggling with adolescent issues are in great need of help. PIT knows that a group of concerned parents that are dealing with or have dealt with often alarming adolescent behavior can provide effective yet inexpensive help for each other.

The PIT Manual provides a blueprint for starting and maintaining a support group and includes detailed lesson plans and teaching materials to lead group discussions on specific topics of concern. It is PIT's intention to help new support groups as much as possible via telephone, email, and even on-site visits if at all practical.
